| Out and About
The brooding North Yorkshire Moors are only
a short distance away. This is the home of the
North Yorkshire Moors railway and of course the
'Heartbeat' village of Goathland. There is so
much to see and do you'll wonder how you will
fit everything in.
It is a leisurely 1.5 mile walk down to Whitby
Abbey. This course takes you straight into the
Abbey itself. Descend the famous 199 Abbey stairs
to the old part of the ancient fishing port -
home of Captain Cook. (Check to see whether the
Endeavor is in port at the time of your stay!)
Just to the south of Summerfield, Robin Hood's
bay tumbles down through winding alleyways to
the sea. The coastal walk from Ravenscar beacon
passes through here on its way up through Boggle
Hole and on to Whitby itself. |
