Here’s a curated list of common questions our guests often have, along with straightforward answers to help you plan your stay seamlessly at Summerfield Farm.

  • Do you provide cleaning products?

    All properties include bleach, mops & buckets, dustpan and brush and hoovers, should you need them. 

  • What kitchen facilities to you provide?

    In all our kitchens we supply washing up liquid, hand soap, kitchen spray sanitizer, dish cloths, tin foil, cling film, bin liners, tea, coffee and sugar. 

  • What accessibility features do your cottages offer?

    All our cottages are designed with accessibility as a priority. Features include level access, wide doorways, adapted wet rooms with grab rails, ground floor bedrooms, and specialist equipment like hoists and adjustable beds. Each cottage’s page on our website provides detailed information about specific features.

  • Is Bedding & Towels provided?

    Yes, we provide all linen to include towels, bedding, tea towels and all the matresses have waterproof covers.

  • We are a care provider can you provide us with a risk assessment?

    Yes, we have risk assessments for all our properties, please request on booking for further information.

  • How can I ensure the cottage meets my specific needs?

    We encourage you to contact us directly to discuss your needs. We are committed to customising your accommodation to ensure it meets your requirements by  offering a flexi-furniture policy, allowing you to move things to suit your own personal needs ,ensuring  a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

  • Do you provide any childrens equipment/toys?

    Each property has a cot bed with matress (please bring your own bedding), high chair, single bed toddler side bar, changing mat, potties and a toy box.  If you require further equipment please advise on booking.

  • Can I bring a pet and/or service animal?

    Yes, service animals and your pet dogs (for a small cleaning fee) are welcome at Summerfield Farm. We understand the important role they play. Please let us know in advance if you will be bringing a service animal so we can make necessary accommodations.

  • What local attractions are accessible to visitors with disabilities?

    Whitby and the surrounding areas offer several accessible attractions. This includes wheelchair-friendly paths at Whitby Abbey, along the cinder track.


    Activities such as North York Moors railway line accessibility coach, accessible Whitby Wet Wheels boat tours, and several local restaurants and shops that are equipped to welcome visitors with disabilities

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    As a small family business we are not able to be as fexible as the larger corporate companies. Details can be found in our booking terms and conditions, which we recommend reviewing before making your reservation.

  • Do you offer any special packages for care facilities or groups?

    Yes, we provide special packages for residential and private care facilities, including tailored group stays. Please contact us for more information and to arrange a custom package that meets your group's needs.

  • Is there Wi-Fi in the cottages?

    Yes, all our cottages are equipped with free Wi-Fi, ensuring you stay connected throughout your visit, subject to extreme weather conditions!

  • Are there medical services nearby?

    Yes, there are medical services available nearby in Whitby. We provide contact details for local clinics and emergency services in each cottage for your peace of mind.

  • Are there transport services for guests with mobility needs?

    There is one accessible taxi in the area which can be pre-booked (not available on Sundays).  There is also a bus stop at the end of our road (5 minute walk), runs fairly regular and has wheelchair access.

  • Can I rent mobility aids during my stay?

    Yes, we offer a large variety of mobility aids free of charge. Please contact us prior to your arrival to discuss the available options and ensure everything is set up for your stay.  If there is something we do not have, you are welcome to arrange rent & deliverty.

  • What are the check-in and out times?

    check-in is from 4pm, and check-out is 10am.
