We stayed at Scoresby Cottage
with my mum who is not able to walk or weight bear. We had everything we needed to make her stay comfortable and enjoyable, a ceiling hoist to get her in and out of bed and wheelchair, an electric bed to help position her, over bed side table for drinks and meals, a walk in shower with shower chair (and hire of a shower sling) and a rise recline chair in the living area.
The cottage was like a home from home- fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and sofas, a log burning open fire and full central heating throughout to keep it cosy. The rooms are all really good sizes and decorated beautifully. Outside there was a garden with seating area and ample parking. Whitby town was approx 10minute drive away, with a Sainsbury’s even closer. Richard was very attentive and helpful (arranging shower sling, helping with wi-fi, providing Alan keys to help adjust mums wheelchair), we felt welcomed and in good hands.
We would highly recommend Scoresby Cottage, it allowed us to spend some real quality time with mum as we did not have to worry about being able to meet her needs as everything we needed was right there.
